An Alberta Student Number (ASN) is a unique number assigned to any student who has applied to or attended an Alberta school (K-12), college, technical institute, or university.

  • You may already have an ASN If you applied to or attended school in Alberta, and the system will try to find it based on the information you entered when you created your account (first name, last name, date of birth, and gender).

  • If you don’t have an ASN, the system will assign one to you.

It is important to ensure you have the correct Alberta Student Number in your profile, as it is used to access your Alberta high school and/or post-secondary transcripts.

If you determine that the ASN reflected on this screen is not correct, please contact the Help Desk for assistance with having it corrected.  There are some situations where the system may not be able to find your correct ASN based on the information provided, and you will need to contact the Help Desk for assistance.

If you ensure your ASN is correct before you submit an application, the institutions you are applying to will receive your transcripts much more quickly.
