If you are a new user, you must create a user account with SIAMS (Secure Identity & Access Management System) to access ApplyAlberta.

Creating a user account is a four step process:

1. Privacy Statement: Applicants must agree to the terms and conditions for obtaining and using an ApplyAlberta Account

2. Fill in your personal information: This includes your legal name, birth date, and e-mail address

3. Select Challenge Response Questions: The purpose of theses questions is to help you login if you have forgotten your password and to keep your account information secure. Select and complete responses for 4 of the 10 questions.

4. Create User ID and Password: Keep your Login ID and Password in a safe location; you will need it to re-enter ApplyAlberta in the future.

After clicking the Create Account button you will be asked if you have an Alberta Student Number (ASN).

An ASN is a unique number assigned to any student who has applied to or attended an Alberta school (K-12), college, technical institute or university.

  • If you applied to or attended school in Alberta you may already have an ASN and the system will try to find it.

  • If you don’t have an ASN, the system will assign one to you.

Your Alberta Student Number is needed to access your Alberta high school or post-secondary transcripts.

An Alberta Student Number (ASN) is required to complete an ApplyAlberta application. After finding or generating your ASN, the account creation process will be complete and you can continue with the application process.
